What we are Doing
Rational Faiths along with the Cultural Hall Podcast is taking a step to help those who cannot help themselves. We have pledged to “Adopt a Stake” through the Liahona Children’s Foundation. What this means is we are committed to raising enough money to provide for the nutritional and educational needs of children in need in the Ta Khmau area of Cambodia. The LCF has determined that $6,000 is generally sufficient to provide support for the malnourished children of a stake in the LDS church. If the very real need and the opportunity pricks your heart please join with us and help support the Ta Khmau stake.
How to help
There are several ways donations can be submitted:
You can pay online via PayPal or by mailing in a check.
Click here for the online donation:
For donations by check, the mailing address is: 274 N 550 E, Lindon UT, 84042
The Liahona Children’s Foundation is a federally-recognized 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, so make sure to let your place of employment aware of your donation if they match charitable donations (the LCF Employer Idenification Number, EIN, is 95-3576538).
In order to ensure that the funds are directed to Ta Khmau (the RF LCF Stake), you need to either write “Ta Khmau” on the check, or type “Ta Khmau” in the message section (the blue text that says “add special instructions to the seller”, see image above) when making an online donation. The volunteers at the LCF will track the donations and send periodic updates of the total donations received. We will update this page to reflect our progress towards $6,000 for the Ta Khmau Stake (see bottom of the post). For those who contribute via a recurring donation there is not a space to earmark your donation to the “Ta Khmau” stake. In order to make sure your contribution is counted in the RF cause please email shaelaavery@liahonachildren.org and she will ensure that your donation is directed to the Ta Khmau account.
Why Join With Us?
I have often felt like I needed to help someone else due to my own abundance but did not know where to start. I let that feeling subside and continued to ignore it until it came up again. Now I have a way to help and you do too. Don’t let that generous part of your heart sit back. Don’t let that feeling subside. Click on the donate link and help someone you have never met. Help an infant stay alive. Help a child go to school. Return the blessings you have received to another. Join with us.
Project Update
By the end of 2014 the Ta Khmau LCF Stake has received $9,280. This is Awesome!!! Success!!!
For a more detailed understanding of the genesis of the LCF and how it delivers the nourishment to the children, please listen to our podcast with LCF’s cofounder Robert Rees below or click here.
I just donated through the link. This is my favorite way to help.
Thanks for setting this up. It may also interest people to know that we are trying to set up a nine day humanitarian trip to Cambodia this coming summer. Right now we have a couple of interested people. We need at least four to make the trip happen. It will be a great opportunity to visit with the children the Liahona Children’s Foundation serves. If you’re interested send me an email at davedd233(at)gmail(dot)com.
I couldn’t see where to indicate the stake in the donation process. I didn’t see a “message” section. Could you clarify where that is?
I’m going to adjust the post and add a graphic for you Jonathan.
this is cool and i’m glad to see you guys doing this. now, if you can get this information over to lds leaders and let them know that maybe just a few less rental properties a year and they could take care of all the malnourished LDS children for way longer than a year.
Thank you SOOO much Jody! This is a worthy cause indeed.

Is there a way they are tracking the total amount of all donations?
Will,
I receive periodic updates from a LCF contact I have who is able to monitor the donations that have been noted with “Ta Khmau” on the check or in the comment section of the pay pal donation.
As for total donations for the entire LCF, I don’t know.
Will,
The foundation publishes financial information on the website on an annual basis if you are interested in tracking those donations.
Done. This is my favorite organization ever.
Donated!
