Meet more of the RF bloggers, learn the story of the inception of Rational Faiths (I’m pretty sure it took a dream within a dream to start this project), and hear a funny story or two. In this episode Paul, Mike, Lori, Leah, Thomas, and I chat it up. We talk about how we each came to be a part of Rational Faiths, our observations of the blog morphing a bit over time and what we think the blog should be, now and in the future. For you listeners and readers of Rational Faiths let us know what you think of the blog/podcast in general. How have you noticed it change? Do you like what you read and hear? What else would you like to see come out of Rational Faiths? Share you thoughts with us. For only then will we become the most powerful force in the WORLD! That is, after the Christian Rapture has left us behind with the atheists and pagans.
I love Navel Gazing! haha. This was a really fun conversation to listen to. Thanks everyone.
Interesting stuff y’all. Recently the “Desolation of the Middle” resonated with me. I have casually read this blog for about a year or so. I got shouted down once in the comments section by someone who didn’t like that I disagreed (respectfully I might ad) with something. That combined with a lot of recent posts led me to wonder if this was an echo chamber for the disaffected so I appreciated y’all taking about it during this podcast.
There are a lot of topics lately in the church that generate strong feelings, such as Ordain Women and I have found folks on both sides who are so passionate they don’t allow for the other and certainly don’t treat each other well which is disappointing.
I am not sure how much I will want to read here in the future. I find some things interesting, some uplifting, some disturbing and some just…meh. What I worry about is this feeling I get reading here from some of the stronger voices. It seems to be this sense that “If only the rest of you stupid mormons were as smart as us in the blogosphere you would see it our way!” It comes off as arrogant sometimes and really doesn’t make anyone feel any better, certainly not me. Maybe I am just one of those stupid mormons in the middle.
Hey, Brian. Did you see my comment on podcast #39: Part 3 of the Sunstone Interviews? I’d like to see that type of style interview during the FAIR Conference, ect.
