INCLUSION AND INFLUENCE IN THE BORDERLANDS
On Saturday, November 15, Cathy and I went to the Sunstone Northwest Symposium. This year it was held at the Ranier Valley Community of Christ Church in Seattle. We were able to meet old and new friends. The following are pictures of us with our friends.
Sister Lindsay Hansen-Park opening the symposium
Dan Wotherspoon giving the opening address
Cathy rockin’ the microphone in the panel discussion. Next to her is Aaron Brown of the Seattle Stake spoke about his stake’s LGBT outreach. The two women sitting to Aaron’s left are Karin Franklin Peter, President of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy and Robin Linkhart of the Seventy of Community of Christ. They spoke of their Church’s triumphs and struggles with more inclusion of the LGBT community and of greater gender equality.
Sister Jerilyn Hassell Pool explaining the science behind Mormon cuisine.

Hangin’ with Kirk Caudle, host of the Mormon Book Review podcast
We finally got to meet Carson and Marisa Calderwood. They are really, really good looking people. Say it using Derek Zoolander’s voice. It’s way funny.

We were at the Portland one. Wished we could have seen you both there, but two in one weekend was a lot. Thanks for the photos of Seattle.
Thanks for sharing these. What a bunch of awesome people! Especially Derek Zoolander! 🙂
