Dear Paul:
Thank you for sharing your concerns about this retailer.
Please keep in mind that the list of City Creek stores reported by the Deseret News was generated by the newspaper’s own research. It is incomplete and unconfirmed.
Our retail partner, Taubman Centers, Inc., has announced 20 stores for City Creek Center and will soon be announcing more in anticipation of grand opening on March 22. I can assure you that Abercrombie & Fitch will not be one of the stores included in Taubman’s announcement.
Sincerely,
Dale K. Bills

Good for you! So this makes me think of two questions. 1- Is this a case of a lack of journalistic integrity and Deseret News jumped the gun in an attempt to create some drama and drum up their numbers? Or 2- did the swift, and passionate response to the article cause the church to back out of a potential deal to bring in A&F?
Weird to think that the church paper didn’t know the specs of the church mall or didn’t have an inside scoop on what was happening. It’s easy to do a story about your own company because most likely the pr mall people probably asked the paper to come and do a story on it. Very confusing how that can be mixed up!
At the same time you would think they would have contracts in place for A&F and would be hard to back out on something like that.
