Jonathan Streeter is NOT white and has written about racism so often. He has made videos about it. He has been the recipient of it.
This is just believers who do not want to recognize that the Church has not apologized to them OR to women Or to ‘Lamanites’.
You are just wandering around with your toes sticking out waiting for someone to step on them Miguel.
You are ridiculously over the top.
Darron Smith comes across as a racist
I am old enough remember when all people were not allowed to receive all the blessings within the Mormon church. I grew up in an all white town in central Utah. I spoke out then and I will speak out now.
When all men were allowed the blessings of the priesthood, I rejoiced. One day, maybe the priesthood could be extended to women. Well, that never happened. In addition, the church doubled down on the LGBTQ+ community. The revocation of the priesthood ban has always been seen as hope for us “others” that some day all “righteous” members would have status.
Miguel, I might not be as woke as you, but I don’t see it as a competition. If one blessing is denied to you based on a feature of your body, well then, I am going to speak up strongly and often. I hope(d) that you and others would do the same for me. (BTW, they didn’t). After many, many years, I finally realized the LDS church has changed little regarding racism, sexism, homophobia. It was a bitter pill to swallow and I cried those horrible sobs.
The hurt I have today is for the members that thought the church was better than it is. There is no doubt that it was horrible and devastating.
I am lily white, I have brown children, my best friend is black and my daughter was gay. No, I can’t speak for them but I guarantee that if you hurt one of them, you have hurt me. Yes, I am still racist and homophobic. I work every day to overcome my character flaws, and no I don’t want any of us in the church “enjoying” marginalization.
Is this podcast episode was meant to taken as satire too?Because sounds like Miguel played the part of the upset racist perfectly.
