Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I am preparing for company this is going to be one of “those” posts. Inspired by Sister Leah Marie’s daily reminder of what she is thankful for (which has been a genuine delight to keep up with) I am going to detail what I am thankful/grateful for…to the tune of Turkey in the Straw.
♫ Oh I’m thankful for my ankles and I’m thankful for my toes
I am thankful for my sisters and I’m thankful for my bros
I am grateful for the table that is set with my food and its swell to have friends who put up with my moods
Grateful all night, grateful all night
Thankful all day, thankful all day
The jolliest Mormon you’ll see me be I’ll be dancing a jig with my one good knee
Two cats upon my lap while I write this ditty
One is orange and fat one’s a dainty little kitty
Saying thanks for their company it is no fluke
Even when I’m on my knees cleaning up puke
Grateful all night, grateful all night
Thankful all day, thankful all day
The jolliest Mormon you’ll see me be I’ll be dancing a jig with my one good knee. ♫
There are many other things that I am grateful for, and can never be thankful enough about. I am deeply indebted to many people for the opportunity to wake up every day and try again. It is the greatest gift of all; the gift of Grace—from God, from my fellow Brothers and Sisters, and from myself.
Thank you.
Oh. Em. Gee. I got a shout out!!!
Is Gratitudinal Fortitude a real phrase? It should be.
This is fantastic! All we need now is a fiddle and an audio clip. . .
