The wonderful Mitch Mayne has conducted a special interview for the RF Podcast. Late in 2015 after the policy update and the initial uproar surrounding that leak/clarification/announcement/ (and now according to Elder Nelson ‘revelation’) there was an article put out by Religion News Service, written by Lorena O’Neil, about a Mormon family directly impacted by the anti-LGBT policy. In the article O’Neil tells a bit about the Sautter-Walker family (a homosexual couple with 4 children) as well as Paul and Ric’s reaction to the official policy change. Here Mitch interviews Paul and Ric to tell a more full story so we can get to know them better and hear from a real Mormon family that has been pushed further away from the church, thanks to the church’s policy.
Thanks for the enjoyable podcast. I appreciate the time that Mitch, Paul, Ric, and of course Brian (oh – And the family dog for staying quiet). I was so glad to hear how welcomed you were into some of the wards you have been in and even some of your leader’s (or at least your leader’s spouses) responses to the policy debacle.
Thanks for sharing.
